Wendy 'Ladybird' Hickey was born in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia and attended Ballarat College where she studied art for four years.

Wendy also studied art at The Academy of Arts in Honolulu, Hawaii where she learnt under George Woolard, a renowned water colourist.

Wendy's works are used by Jam's World Hawaii for a clothing range which is printed in Japan and sold world wide.

Her works are in collections in Australia and overseas.
